Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 2 Episode 8 Recap: Who is Josh’s Soup Fairy?

This week Crazy Ex-Girlfriend came back with two brand new episodes and Rebecca did not disappoint. She is, after all, so maternal.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend this season has continued to show Rebbeca’s growth and her understanding of herself. This episode finally made Rebecca grow up in a new way and apologize to Paula for what she did to their relationship. Too bad that it took a terrible thing happening to Paula for it to happen.

Nonetheless, Rebecca and Paul began working through their issues and Rebecca ended up giving up all her plans to help out Paula as much as she could. But of course Josh had to intervene because it is, after all, Rebecca.

Paula’s Loss

Paula Proctor is a strong woman and that was proven when her husband cheated on her and she instantly kicked him out. It came as a blow to Paula and forced her to flip out a bit at work but it still showed us all how amazing Paula is.

She didn’t let the fact that her husband couldn’t take her success bring her down and kicked him out to better her life. It also forced her relationship with Rebecca to mend itself.

I’m So Maternal

This song starts with us thinking that maybe Rebecca won’t get lost in Josh shenanigans and forget that she has a duty to Paula and Tommy but clearly, that isn’t the case. Because honestly, it’s Rebecca.

It starts simply enough. The two are just hanging out at Paula’s house when Rebecca suggests that she and Tommy go get a bunch of popcorn to watch movies all day long. But when she sees Josh at the grocery store who says he is sick, Rebecca needs to fix it.

So she sends him some soup and gets upset that Josh thinks his girlfriend Anna sent it to him. Because Rebecca couldn’t just text him, she brings Tommy to a club to try and tell Josh.

Tommy Can You Hear Me?

While they are at the club, Tommy wonders off from Rebecca and she can’t find him. Heather and Rebecca both search the entire club (and even end up trapped in the bathroom while Josh and Anna have sex) and still can’t find him.

So Rebecca goes back to Paula’s home and Tommy is there, the two proving that they can work together.

Duh

Josh realized that it has always been Rebecca. That no matter what, Rebecca has always been the one there for him and so he sings this lovely song as he’s running to her.

And in the end, Rebecca did the right thing. She told Josh that he needed to go and stood by Paula’s side when she needed her most. And it’s great to see these two as friends again! It has been so long since they were actual friends.
