Caturday Blogging: Welcome the New Year with New Cats

For the first Caturday of 2017, we’re introducing you to a novel idea that’s worth considering: Adopt more cats. If you don’t have one yet, now’s the time.

Now that we’re officially forgetting to write 2017 on all our papers, it’s time to take a look around and see what needs changing in your life. Whether it’s time to paint the walls or drink more water, improvements can always be made. And while we’re not here to tell you how to live your life, we certainly have a few suggestions worth considering.

For example, maybe you need to open your home to more guests. Not like extended family members you try to avoid till the holidays. Like pets! Specifically, cats! So, “guests” might not be the right word. Really, it’s time to open your home to love. That’s right. Conditional, finicky, depending on the time of day, love.

Even if you don’t believe us, this Kitty Kommercial from Furkids ought to change your mind. It’s hilarious, honest and explains what we all already know: Cats rock.

Check it out:

In case you didn’t know — which I didn’t and therefore, am here to share my knowledge with you — Furkids is Atlanta’s largest no-kill animal shelter. Honestly, even their website is fresh. On March 25, they’ll be celebrating their 15th Anniversary. Plus, 3,191 animals found furever homes in 2016! Which is great. And we can grow that number in 2017. If every person who reads this adopts one more cat, that number will multiply in no time. Obviously, you don’t have to adopt from this particular shelter. But consider it nonetheless.

Well, let me put it this way. As I write this, there are more than three million views of the video on YouTube. So, if just 1/100 of those viewers adopted a new animal, we’d shatter the 2016 record.

I hope you enjoyed our first Caturday! That’s 1/52 for 2017. Except on some holiday weekends. In which case, Caturday 1/45 maybe. Have a good weekend, everybody.
