The Walking Dead’s “Thrill of the Fight” Returns in February

The Walking Dead’s Andrew Lincoln spills on the second half of season seven, and it seems as though Rick Grimes is finally getting his revenge.

The first half of The Walking Dead this past season was hard to watch. For seven seasons now, we’ve seen a fairly similar story pan out over the 16-episodes we’ve all come to know and love, but this one felt different. We saw Rick Grimes lose a part of himself; we saw him break down, crumble, and falter at the feet of another- Negan.

Negan single-handedly came into season 7 and flipped it on it’s head. Some say he makes the story more enjoyable, but I found it difficult to watch every week. The 8-episode first half pissed me off on Sunday nights more than it left me satisfied, but I think that’s all about to change comes February. A recent interview with Andrew Lincoln reveals that Rick Grimes is back and better than ever, and finally ready to take down his enemy.

"“There’s sort of a freedom in him, a feeling that comes from losing everything, and also the thrill of the fight. It’s the thrill of the fight again. He’s back in. All I’m saying is that the band is back together.”"

Lincoln explains that, although Negan has done a lot to Rick, he’s not giving up just yet. He also makes note that he loved filming these next 8 episodes and he thinks the fans will be very satisfied with them. “There are several episodes that I loved being involved in and it certainly feels very much more like a show that I knew and recognized in the back eight.”  He continues, “Wait till [episode] 16. I promise you, there is one beat in 16, I dropped my script and started punching the air and did a little jig.

But will we all be doing a little jig come February when The Walking Dead 7B returns? We’ll have to wait and see.
