Hoooray! The Magic School Bus is Coming Back Thanks to Netflix
The new iteration of the popular 1990s show “The Magic School Bus” was announced in 2014 and expected to premiere in 2016. So what’s the deal?
In 2014, Scholastic Media announced a reboot of popular animated series “The Magic School Bus” was in the works and would show on Netflix beginning in 2016. But here we are in 2017 with no new episodes of “The Magic School Bus”. Is it still happening?
A producer on the show, Stu Stone, who also happened to voice Ralphie in the original, told TMZ that a bunch of surprises are in the works for Ms. Frizzle and the gang. Stone told TMZ that the latest iteration of “The Magic School Bus” is being treated as top secret–which probably means plenty of celebrity cameos and surprises from the show can be expected.
In case you didn’t grow up with television as your babysitter in the 90s, “The Magic School Bus” featured a class full of kids who went on scientific, fun, and just plain dangerous field trips with their unorthodox teacher Ms. Frizzle. And oh yeah, she owned a Magic School Bus that could travel through time and space, shrinking, camouflaging itself, and basically anything they needed to go on amazing adventures.
Stone also told TMZ that while some familiar voices are returning to the show, we can also be excited about a few new classmates on “The Magic School Bus” when it finally premieres. How exciting to introduce this fantastic show to a whole new generation of kids, especially as we focus more on increasing interesting in STEM fields with the younger generations.
