Trespass Against Us (January 20th)

Synopsis: The story of a man’s attempt to escape his familial history of crime.

Remember how I said movies left here have jumped release dates? Well, sometimes they go from theatrical release to VOD, such is the case with Trespass Against Us. I heard about this film back in 2015 and it seemingly fell off the radar. Like many of the films already contained here, Trespass Against Us did the festival circuit where review have been mixed, to put it kindly. But how can you deny the one-two punch of a film starring both Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson?

The trailer seems to capably balance this out as a family drama with a gangland element. Fassbender and Gleeson were one of the few high points in the video game adaptation of Assassin’s Creed in December, also playing a father and son duo. Irrespective of the film’s quality, you can’t deny the actors will be bringing their A-game. The film’s prepared to go into limited release on the 20th, but depending on your cable provider you can probably get it through on-demand. (See, I’ve already given you two movies to see without leaving your house!)
