The Stage Awards are a pretty big deal and now Cursed Child producer Sonia Friedman is nominated for Producer of the Year.
The producer of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Sonia Friedman, is nominated for Producer of the Year at 2017’s Stage Awards. And fans are either extremely excited or don’t really care about it.
That’s not Sonia’s fault though. It’s just the reaction that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is getting. You either love it and think it is amazing or you hate it. There really isn’t a lukewarm section where people kind of enjoy.
Honestly, we’re Potter fans. There is nothing ‘lukewarm’ about any of us. We either are obsessed with something or we hate it whole-heartedly. It is but our nature. So for those fans who do love Cursed Child, it is incredible that the show is getting so much recognition from theater award shows.
Honestly, even if you’re not the biggest fan of the play, it is still part of the Harry Potter series. And any award for anyone who worked on any part of the Harry Potter series is deserving and amazing. So here’s to Sonia. The producer who is making the magic come alive once more and, this time, live and in the theater.
We hope that the Stage Awards recognize your amazing work and see what a joy Harry Potter and the Cursed Child brings to fans everywhere. Maybe they’ll love you so much they’ll give you an award for it. Who knows?
