As much as My Favorite Murder has filled the hole of female-hosted true crime podcasts, it just wouldn’t be the same show without the incomparable Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. The two hosts manage to brilliantly keep the audience engaged while honestly tackling difficult topics. And they don’t shy away from the personal either. Anxiety, therapy, alcoholism, drug use, and family issues have all been discussed throughout the (currently) 45 episodes of the podcast. And what makes the audience keep coming back for more? It’s not the accurate and heavily researched crimes, that’s for sure!

When it comes down to it, feminism at its heart is about equality. And there are plenty of true crime podcasts out there hosted by men. So having two funny and brilliant ladies tackling difficult and depressing topics weekly with a feminist perspective is a step towards equality. My Favorite Murder is a safe place where everyone can be themselves, f**k politeness, and learn how to stay alive. So thank you Karen and Georgia for filling the hole in our hearts that we needed to get through 2016. Honestly, we couldn’t have done it without you. And of course remember to stay sexy…and don’t get murdered!
