12 Science Fiction and Fantasy Books We Can’t Wait to Read in 2017

Here’s to a 2017 full of plenty of new books to read. We definitely have these 12 science fiction and fantasy titles on our must-read list.

I know, I know: your to-read pile is big enough as it is. However, one always has to make room for the newest books, right? What’s better than diving into a new book just as it’s come out, so that you may squeal about it as loudly as possible on Twitter and Goodreads with your fellow readers? It’s the equivalent of live-tweeting an episode of Game of Thrones, though it usually takes longer than an hour to get through.

For this list, yours truly has focused just on science fiction and fantasy. If 2017 is anything like 2016, we’ll need the escapism. Of course, there are some YA titles on here as well. Trust me, you might be surprised with the complexity tackled by some of these novels from that genre. Besides, sometimes you need something a little different, even if it’s just reading a book aimed at a slightly younger audience.

I also make no promises that a certain novel that fans may have been waiting on for several years now doesn’t also appear on this list. Read on to find out what I mean — and remember, these books are mostly presented in no particular order.
