2. Untold Stories of the ER – TLC – 1 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday
Remember when TLC stood for The Learning Channel? This was in the days before Here Comes Honey Boo Boo or Toddlers & Tiaras. There was a lot of real-life drama coming to you via your television screens. And while TLC still has a lot of reality shows, nothing can quite capture a viewer like a medical docudrama. Enter Untold Stories of the ER, which you can watch a full marathon of starting Saturday at 1:00 p.m., ending at 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
This show is much like its predecessor Trauma: Life in the ER, which featured real-life cases as they unfolded inside the hospital of the week. But in this show, we get to see actual ER doctors tell the stories of their most bizarre encounters with trauma patients. What’s more fun is some of the doctors play themselves in all the reenactments, so we get to see them exchange the scalpel for a script and try their hand at acting.
The show has been on the air since 2004, and at least one more season is set to air next year. It’s normally on the Discovery Life channel, but if you’re feeling up to a little bit of cheesy dialogue coinciding with a bloody good time, this may be the marathon for you.
