Yet another contender for Clinton’s VP was Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown. Brown is a complete progressive, often compared to Elizabeth Warren. With his record of being a true fighter for the working class, he’d have a good shot at getting elected in 2020. But it doesn’t sound like he’s too interested in the job.
To Sherrod Brown, being President or even Vice President seems too…flashy. He’s more interested in getting his hands dirty, so to speak. He’d rather be out there shaking hands and making things happen. With all this talk about the working class during the 2016 election, Sherrod Brown is a man who can actually put his money where his mouth is. He has spent a greater part of his political career taking on Wall Street on behalf of the blue collar workers of America.
Sherrod Brown has been serving the people of Ohio since the 1970’s. He started out in the Ohio House of Representatives, working his way up through the US House of Representatives and into his current position as Senator, where he’s been since 2007. Over these past four decades, he’s built up a solid resume by taking an active role on issues ranging from anti-terrorism to veterans’ benefits, from education and employment to LGBT rights. He’s ruffled a few feathers along the way, but his brand of outspokenness may be just what the White House needs in 2020.
