The A Team
Calling all 80’s babies. If you weren’t playing “A Team” with your neighborhood friends in the mid 80’s then what were you even doing with your life? The show tells the story of a handful of ex-special forces agents running from the military police – although they didn’t really commit the crimes they’re accused of. As they flee the MPs, they always stop to fight for justice for the underdog and blow a bunch of stuff up.
The idea of an A-Team reboot is so tricky. Once in a lifetime you can catch lightning in a bottle, and casting Mr. T as B.A. Baracus was the single most brilliant casting decision in the history of TV. Who in the world could be as good as he was? (We pity the fool who tries to answer this question.) And nobody better say Quinton Jackson from the stinkfest that they called a movie version. Even Bradley Cooper couldn’t save that steaming pile.
I don’t have much in the way of advice or suggestions. I only know that a well-done remake of the A-Team could change the course of the reboot. Don’t look too closely at other TV remakes of the same era (like Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver). Just believe it could be great and maybe it will materialize.
