Gossip Girl
If we’re going to get a Gossip Girl reboot, we must have all these folks come back as the exact same characters. But enough with all the silly adolescent drama. Give these characters some real problems to deal with – fat thighs, husbands cheating with nannies, hot yoga addictions, and gluten allergies.
Gossip Girl reached the height of its popularity before the recession hit in 2008, and was the guilty pleasure that we didn’t really feel all that guilty about. It told the stories of a handful of super good looking teenagers, growing up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. They are spoiled, entitled, and left completely to their own devices. Women between the ages of 18 and 49 ate every episode with a spoon.
Let’s revisit our fave rich kids as adults and let’s watch them try to raise their own rotten little brats with all the lack of values without which they were raised. If they’re going to recycle this show, however, it needs to remain completely pristine. I will NOT tolerate any other actor trying to be Chuck Bass, and Dan will always be the floppy haired Penn Badgely in my heart. Ditto with Blake Lively and Leighton Meester.
