GREENSBORO, NC – OCTOBER 27: Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speaks to students during a homecoming pep rally at North Carolina A
17. Hill on her Image as a Woman
"Whether I am meant to or not, I challenge assumptions about women. I do make some people uncomfortable, which I’m well aware of, but that’s just part of coming to grips with what I believe is still one of the most important pieces of unfinished business in human history—empowering women to be able to stand up for themselves."
Women are constantly brought down by men. It is just how it is. We are not seen as equals to our male counterparts because they are more intelligent and level-headed. It is a wrong assumption but that is just how the world currently works.
But Hillary challenged that. She made it clear that women are not as clear cut as everyone assumed they were. Clinton showed us that women can stand up for themselves and fight against whatever images we placed upon them.
Time and time again we try to break down women and tell them that they are not important enough to be in charge. And when women are in charge, we question them and wonder why they aren’t at home with their families. But Hillary taught us that women can do whatever they put their minds to and that is so important.
