7. At Christmas We Tell the Truth

Since the movie was released, everyone talked about the scene where Andrew Lincoln’s character Mark goes to Juliet (Keira Knightley) and tells her about his feelings. The scene, nowadays, is a bit creepy, but at the time, it was incredibly romantic.

But that scene taught us one very important lesson: at Christmas we tell the truth. No matter what our feelings are and how we would usually act, at Christmas, if we love someone, we tell them.

It is an important thing to remember because we get so afraid of telling our feelings to people that we can miss our chances if we don’t just take that leap. What better time of year then at Christmas?

So we can all take this lesson from Mark. He told Juliet how he felt knowing that nothing would come of it and he let himself move on from it. And that’s all we really need to do. We just have to let our feelings be known and then go from there.

While it is easier said then done, at least we have Mark to look up to in that respect. He taught us to just be true to ourselves and tell the ones we love that we love them and that is all we can do in this holiday season.
