We provide you with a small sampling of LGBTQ+ inclusive movies so you can supplement your holiday ennui with some much-needed pride.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, obviously. But that time seems to be lasting longer and longer each year. It’s always great to sit down in your Christmas onesie with some hot cocoa, turn on literally any given channel, and see what iteration of holiday cheer they offer with limited commercial interruption.

But after a while, it’s too much. We get it. Someone didn’t believe in Santa, magic happened, then suddenly they did. Or a family got together, aired their grievances around the ham, fell apart, then magic happened, and they realized how much they REALLY loved each other all along.

These movies are often traditional, required viewing. But if you’re a bit less cheery, a bit more Grinchy, and 70-150% more queer than the average elf, by this point in the season, you’re dying for more sophisticated entertainment. And if not more sophisticated, at LEAST more representative of the actual nuanced reality in which you live. Which is where we come in! If you’re super in need of a break from painfully family-friendly (read: heteronormative) festivities, and you find yourself missing girls and girls or boys and boys kissing, this is the list for you.
