4. Man in Black
The Man in Black sucks. Simple as that. He is evil, and he is only in the game for his own benefit. It helps that Ed Harris plays him and he is super intimidating as is. Basically, William gets WAY to into the game and becomes this dude.
The Man in Black just wants to find this weird maze that he is positive exists and he kills everyone without question. He even wears black in the desert, which makes no sense because he’d be sweating to death especially since he is a guest, not a host.
Then he drags our poor Teddy into his story because he finds him tied up in the middle of the desert, and I cannot stress enough how terrible this man is. He scalped a dude to get the map to this maze thing.
Honestly watching him murder person after person does not make him any more likable either. That is the point, I suppose, since William is so likable in the beginning and we’re watching his (their?) decline.
But that doesn’t mean we have to care about the Man in Black. Which we do not. He is literal scum. He is terrible, make him go away.
