4. Chris Colfer & Darren Criss

For many versions of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” context makes all the difference. On Glee the characters of Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine  (Darren Criss) perform the song together during the show’s Christmas special. It’s a very sweet moment that comes early on in the couple’s budding romance.

“Baby It’s Cold Outside” is the first duet these characters share. The flirtation of two people who obviously like each other and have chemistry turns the song into something romantic. Blaise and Kurt dance around the room playing coy with one another, but using the lyrics in their own way to communicate. Shortly after the song, Kurt admits that he is in love with Blaine.

Sung this way, the song about a person who wants to leave, but is hoping for a reason to stay. The mix of the choreography and the two actors’ voices is what makes the performance so great. Colfer is all innocent and doe eyed, his pitch high and sweet. Criss is all confidence and deeper tones. They play well off each other and do so much with a slight touch or look.

It’s one of those perfect Christmas TV moments that fans of the show would come to remember for a long time.
