15. Wizard Crackers

For those Americans reading this, crackers are an English thing done at Christmas. You pull them apart and toys and a paper hat are inside. But wizard crackers are something else entirely. They are part of the same idea. You pull them and there is something wonderful inside.

But the boring Muggle ones are nothing compared to wizard crackers. While there is a ‘treat’ inside, they are infinitely cooler. Wizard crackers, at least the ones that Harry encountered, had live white mice and an admiral’s hat. That was only after there was a huge bang and blue smoke circling around them all.

It goes hand in hand with everything in the wizarding world. Everything is just infinitely cooler than in the Muggle world. Even cool, fun things that we do at the holidays are cooler when wizards and witches do them.

But crackers in general get everyone in the holiday spirit. Being American, there is nothing more interesting than crackers and wishing we had them here. I know I want one of those cool crowns to wear on Christmas Day, at least.

But the wizard crackers are just another example of how the Harry Potter series should be considered a Christmas movie.
