9. Harry Gets His Firebolt

For Harry, his broomstick and Quidditch are extremely important to him. Not because he is a kid and that’s all he does. We know for certain that he is more concerned about Voldemort than his team, but rather because of the connection it has to his father.

He is a Seeker just like James, was and there is just something very special about that. He doesn’t really remember his father and he only gets to know fleeting information about his parents. But having something he loves be something that his father also loved is special for Harry.

So when Sirius Black gave Harry his Firebolt for Christmas, it was really amazing. Mainly because that broom is awesome. It’s also because, you know, James was Sirius’s best friend and knows how is and Harry’s Quidditch roots.

That is just such an amazing ending to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban though. Watching Harry fly off with such excitement reminds us that Harry is, really, just a teenager. And when we see him frantically open a gift and get so excited about it that he screams with joy? It makes us love him even more. That and we all know that feeling of opening up and amazing gift on Christmas morning.
