18. She won’t let herself be intimidated

It’s difficult to pull one over on someone as hardened as Sansa, but people still try. This happened a lot during her time at Winterfell when the Boltons were occupying the land. One particular scene from Season 5’s “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” stands out in showcasing how much Sansa is not the one to mess with.

Myranda does everything she can to try and intimidate Sansa, who is set to marry Lord Bolton. She informs her of three women who Ramsay got “bored” with, and therefore disposed of. But Sansa is smarter than that. She knows Myranda is obviously in love with Ramsay (ew) and calls her out with no fear. “I’m Sansa Stark of Winterfell. This is my home and you can’t frighten me,” says Sansa, which is one of the more brazen displays of her pointedness. Myranda thought she could just walk into her room and give her the business, but Sansa was having none of it.

Myranda unwittingly prepared Sansa for what was to come in her marriage to Lord Bolton. Ramsay at first tried to put on a smiling face, but it was clear Sansa never fully trusted him. She’s far too perceptive and precocious to let someone treat her like a fool. And although he unleashed unspeakable horrors upon her body and mind, she stayed steadfast throughout, biding her time until she could escape.
