17. She can dole out the justice

Here’s what happens when you are a straight up bastard to Sansa Stark. You receive death by irony. This was the final fate for Ramsay Bolton at the end of Season 6’s “Battle of the Bastards.” After Jon pummels his face in, he gives Ramsay’s final moments on earth to Sansa. He’s tormented her in ways we can’t even imagine, so it was obviously befitting for her to be his final undoing.

She makes a very candid statement about the fate of House Bolton, moments before the last of it is torn apart by the starving hounds. “Your words will disappear,” Sansa says, “Your house will disappear, your name will disappear, all memory of you will disappear.” Pretty brutal, but totally and utterly deserved.

Way back in Season 1’s “Winter is Coming,” Lord Eddard made mention of how justice is passed in the North: “The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword.” Not only did Sansa pass this sentence, she stuck around and watched as these ‘loyal’ beasts tore her husband from limb to limb. After all the bullcrap he’s put her through, this was her chance for the ultimate ‘take that’ moment. Going forward, we hope Sansa can continue to differentiate between proper sentencing and personal retribution.
