11. Unkar Plutt
Unkar Plutt’s role in the Star Wars universe is pretty interesting. On one hand, he nearly starved Rey on the planet of Jakku and was known for buying out the competitors at Niima Outpost.
However, somebody also left Rey there with him. So, he could’ve killed her or sold her into slavery, similar to how we found Anakin Skywalker in Episode I. While Rey didn’t really have anywhere to go, she was free to leave. Further, Unkar Plutt’s thugs were instructed not to bother her, either.
Still, he didn’t feed her that fairly.
"“These five pieces are worth one-half portion.” -Unkar “Last week, they were a half-portion each.” -Rey"
Clearly, his patience only goes so far. Because after Rey declines to trade BB-8, he sends his thugs after her. Then, he follows her to Maz Kanata’s cantina after she steals the Millenium Falcon and starts a confrontation with her that catches Chewbacca’s eye. Chewbacca, who we don’t often see lash out, felt threatened enough to rip off Unkar Plutt’s arm.
Unfortunately, the scene was deleted from the final cut of the film, but we still get the gist.
