9. Stormtroopers, Imperial Droids and Rolly Gunners a.k.a Droideka

As one of the most iconic symbols of the Star Wars franchise, Stormtroopers very much deserve to break the Top 10 when it comes to Star Wars villains.

While known for their godawful aim, they’re also the most loyal servants of the Galactic Empire. The Stormtrooper ranks are compromised of several variations, including Clone Troopers, Death Troopers, and Scout Troopers. In addition to being super expendable, the bucketheads’ vast numbers make them seem a lot more intimidating than they really are. Without them, the Empire wouldn’t have risen to power. The Clone Wars were a major turning point in the early films and Darth Vader, despite what he tells himself, is not a one man army.

Truthfully, Lucasfilm really hit the jackpot when they created Stormtroopers. They’re so marketable and the toys sell like gangbusters. Moreover, many fans consider them a little aloof, so they’ve been parodied a few hundred times already.

Yet, no army is complete with a few-thousand foot soldiers to trudge through the streets and do all the dirty work. The Force Awakens gave them a little more recognition by making one of its leads, FN-2187 / Finn, a former Stormtrooper who defects to the Resistance.
