The third presidential debate highlighted the issues of women’s rights and abortion. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton had very different views on the matter and the discussion heated up quickly. Clinton strongly believes that women should have all the power when it comes to making decisions for their body and Trump believes otherwise.

"“So many states are putting very stringent regulations on women that block them from exercising that choice, to the extent that they are defunding Planned Parenthood, which of course provides all kinds of cancer screenings and other benefits for women in our country,” Clinton said."

In 1973, Roe V. Wade protected a woman’s right to have an abortion up until the pregnancy reached 22 weeks. Trump has said that he would let the states individually decide on the matter and work to defund Planned Parenthood. Trump also said that he believes women who choose to abort should face “some sort of punishment.”

The Center for Reproductive Rights is a global legal advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring a woman’s right to reproductive education, health (birth control, safe abortion), and freedom.
