Star Wars
The reason for all of this is because someone said to me “Keep politics out of Star Wars” to which I responded “Have you ever seen Star Wars?” This entire series is set around someone revolting against the political world created to try and keep peace among the galaxy. There is literally a quote in Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith that says “So this is how democracy ends, with thunderous applause.”
You can think that Star Wars has nothing to do with political understandings, you can think it is just about some jedi trying to fix the galaxy. You’d be wrong but you can think that. Star Wars is literally crafted to be a comment on the ever changing democracy of the world and its decline.
The Jedi grew too powerful and were killed by Anakin as he turned to the dark side. It is not unlike our current political climate. We let a man rise to power because we were afraid of the changing world we lived in. We had one group stuck in their ways and one group who wanted change so badly that they’d let a mad man rule. So, we all love Star Wars and now we’re living in it. Minus the cool lightsabers and aliens.
