2. She Doesn’t Let People Hurt Her

Leslie gets recalled from her position on city council but she doesn’t let that stop her. Yes, she still has a normal reaction to her recall. She gets depressed and is so upset about it all that Ben has to take her to Paris to make her feel better about everything that happened.

But then it makes Leslie pick herself, remember what really matters, and work harder to do what she has to to make her dreams come true. All of Pawnee terribly tear her down. Time and time again they are so rude to Leslie and make her life hard but she just continues to do what she has to for Pawnee.

She could have easily moved away to Chicago and left Indiana behind her but instead, she works hard to move her new job to Pawnee and bring in business to make it better in the long run. Unfortunately, they still don’t particularly care about what Leslie does for them.

But it reflects better on Leslie in the long run. Her ability to pick herself up and continue on despite everyone being against her gives us all a little bit of hope. If you rise above like Leslie, you can do anything your heart is set on.
