7. Supergirl Creators/Writers

Supergirl started as any normal show in season one, but when news broke that it was getting a little gayer in season two, fans came running. The ship of “Sanvers” is now beginning to set sail as we’re getting into mid-season. It’s not without flaws; let’s get that straight (for lack of a better word). But so far, the writers have given us a story so tangible that we can only expect there’s more to come.

The second season depicted an all too real coming out story of Kara Danver’s (Melissa Benoist) older sister Alex (Chyler Leigh). It was awkward and honest. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming, all at the same time. She had discovered her sexuality through meeting Maggie Sawyer (Florina Lima), who’s puppy head tilt could make any girl (gay or straight) turn into a puddle of mush on the floor. The honesty depicted in this story is something so many fans are thankful for, as many of them have seen their own selves in that of Alex Danvers.
