10. Maggie Sawyer- Supergirl

And to complete the newfound ship known as “Sanvers,” I’m throwing Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) onto this list as well. An out lesbian on Supergirl, she helps Alex Danvers discover her own sexuality. The character of Maggie Sawyer was first introduced in 1987 and was the first openly gay characters in mainstream comics. Now, an openly gay character on Supergirl, she’s making a point that your sexuality doesn’t represent who you are as a person.

Honestly, Maggie is quickly becoming my favorite person on this newly move to The CW show. She’s quick witted and fast paced and stands up for herself and a woman that I apparently desperately needed to see on my screen. Not saying that other female leads on the show lack that, I just think Maggie has this sense of pride about her that doesn’t go unnoticed.
