Queen Mary, the mother to Albert and David and grandmother to Elizabeth and Margaret, is something else entirely. She’s amazing and sassy and says what is on her mind. She’s not afraid to shame those who have hurt her and she just wants what is best for her family.

When Albert dies, David comes home for the funeral and Mary makes sure to let him know that she blames him for the death of his brother. She died not long after Albert’s death after having suffered from an illness.

But the fact remains, she was an incredible queen. She did not let things stop her from speaking her mind and that was ever present when she told David that Albert was the better man. Queen Mary lost so much in her life that when he came time for her to leave, she made sure everyone know her feelings before doing so.

She, like her son, died of lung problems from smoking but it also seemed to be contributed to the loss of her favorite son. Queen Mary of Teck was a strong woman and see her dealing with everything happening in The Crown makes her even more special than she already was.
