22. Luke on Hoth
On a direct visual level, Luke fits with all of the other Rebels, sporting a patch similar to Leia’s on his vest, and in terms of color as well. On a slightly deeper level (but only very slightly), his look also evokes that of Ben Kenobi’s before his death in ANH. This is the point where Luke also has another visitation from the Force Ghost of his old mentor, telling him about going to Dagobah to meet Yoda.
Luke also uses the Force to retrieve his lightsaber to free himself from the Wampa. He’s dressed for the Rebellion, but he’s dressed not unlike a Padawan or young Jedi might for surviving on an ice planet like Hoth.
Of course, Han doesn’t match and instead has a special dark parka, but he’s Han Solo and that’s just how these things go.
Also, the scarf over Luke’s face plays a practical role in that faces don’t generally like cold weather. However, when he takes it off, we see that the hero of ANH is back. This is actually the first time we see his face in TESB.
