30. Leia on Bespin

If nothing else, you probably remember this hairstyle: Leia has this on when she yells “I love you” to Han right before he’s frozen in carbonite.

Say it with me now: “I know.”

Anyway, this outfit has yet another set of Leia Braids, but, with the loops, the effect is less severe than, say, her Hoth outfit, which has braids but is far more pulled back. The princess, here, is trying not to look like a princess, but rather just another civilian who’s managed to join up with Han and Chewbacca. Remember, she introduces herself to Lando as simply “Leia,” not as Princess Leia.

(Of course, Lando already knows.)

Perhaps that’s why she doesn’t wear any of her normal colors here, either. The lavender-grey is closer to her normal palettes, but it has some detailing, visible here below her arms, that she doesn’t often have.

The shape of the gown underneath isn’t terribly different from her other looks, but, again, not a terribly common color for her. Even the older Leia doesn’t wear this exact color in TFA.

As Lando puts it, she looks beautiful enough to stay among the clouds — and not threatening at all until she manages to get her Hoth jumpsuit back on.
