34. Leia on Endor

Now that is how you wear a poncho. Luke, take notes, you need them.

Leia doesn’t get to wear pants very often in the original trilogy, much like Padmé Amidala does in the prequel trilogy. Similarly, Leia usually doesn’t don pants unless it’s time for action: helping evacuate the Hoth base in TESB, disguising herself as the bounty hunter Boushh to try and rescue Han in ROTJ, and then the invasion of the forest moon of Endor later in that same film.

Here, though, Leia doesn’t stand out for once: she, Luke, and Han all wear camouflage coats, with Han sporting a fabulous duster that he ditches in something like five minutes. In fact, Luke and Leia don’t look very different in terms of silhouette or even in upper-body attire here. He also wears a helmet and a similar camo poncho.

In other words, the first few scenes before and after Leia learns she has a brother, she’s dressed quite similarly to that brother, but retaining her lighter palette underneath while he still has his black Jedi outfit on.

Meanwhile, though Han’s duster also has a camouflaging pattern as well, it’s not the same thing as Luke and Leia wear. He’s tied to them still, but also apart, since he’s locked out of the loop until Leia tells him what’s actually happened.

Honestly, this slide could be dedicated to all three of the main trio’s Endor infiltration outfits.
