9. Watch The Crown

Netflix’s new original series came out at the perfect time. If it worked, it would have been great for Clinton. With the hashtag #sherules and promoting the fact that women can rule a country, it was helping us see that ladies can do whatever we want.

Though that wasn’t the case last night, the message still holds true. So go and binge watch The Crown. Watch as Elizabeth rises to power and see how she governs England. Watch her be the best she can be and feel inspired.

Yes, we’re not going to see a woman in our presidential office for some time now, we can still appreciate another woman succeeding. It also gives us a hope that one day we can put our sexism aside and do what is right. A woman can lead this country, we just have to give her the chance.

So for now, we have The Crown. We can watch as Queen Elizabeth II goes to whatever lengths she has to to make sure her country comes first. We can pretend that our country trusts women as much as Great Britain does.

We can also pretend that the Obamas are part of a monarchy and they just haven’t told us yet.
