PANT SUIT ELEVEN: When Making History, We Wear White
For Hillary’s second Presidential campaign, the year went fairly smoothly. While the Republicans were narrowing down their robust field of options, Hillary was successful in remaining ahead throughout the Democratic primaries against Senator Bernie Sanders. So it wouldn’t be a repeat of 2008 for Hillary. Almost 25 years after becoming the First Lady, Hillary Clinton finally had the chance to become President of the United States. And now that she’s making history, I bet you’re wondering if she would wear a pantsuit.
On July 28, 2016, Hillary Clinton made history as the first female nominee of a major party for President. In honor of the suffragettes who fought for women to gain the right to vote almost 100 years earlier, Hillary wore a classic white pantsuit for the historic event at the Democratic National Convention in 2016. Hillary’s hopeful speech is a bright spot in a sometimes dark Election cycle so its fitting she chose to wear white and continue to encourage a positive campaign as she accepted the nomination. Also, a white pantsuit is pretty brave! What if you spill something? No matter what happens in November, Hillary has already made history, and she did it all while remaining true to her pantsuit-loving self. Congrats Hillary!
