She believes gay rights are human rights.

Last year, a Supreme Court ruling made marriage between the same gender legal in all 50 states. But the battle is far from over. While another candidate wants to retract that ruling, Hillary Clinton stands proudly behind it.

Hillary has been endorsed by the Human Rights Campaign, one of the largest LGBTQ+ advocacy groups in the nation. She’s also been quoted by saying, “gay rights are human rights.” While she was secretary of the state for Obama’s first term, she fought for greater benefits for LGBTQ+ diplomats at the State Department. She continues to push for equality between lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. Like Clinton said during a historic speech in Switzerland in 2011:

"“Like being a woman, like being a racial, religious, tribal, or ethnic minority, being LGBT does not make you less human. And that is why gay rights are human rights, and human rights are gay rights.”"

Clinton will support federal legislation to ban the discrimination based on sexual orientation. She will promote LGBTQ+ rights at a worldwide level, and she’s working to make it easier to change your gender on official documents.
