A second trailer for the Wonder Woman movie was released on Thursday. We’ll take a closer look and highlight some of the most significant moments.

In case you missed it, the folks at Warner Bros released a new trailer for the upcoming Wonder Woman film. The trailer provided more details about Wonder Woman’s mission, how she decided to accompany Steve Trevor back to his world, and what happens once she gets there.

Let’s slow the trailer down a bit and check out some of the most significant moments from this latest Wonder Woman trailer.

1. Attack on Themyscira

The trailer begins with Diana of Themyscira witnessing the crash of Steve Trevor’s plane. She dives off of a cliff into the water and brings him safely onto the shore. We see uniform-clad men appearing in boats, attacking the women of Amazon as Diana and Steve look on. (The word “Schwaben” is painted on the front of the boat. Schwaben is the German name for Swabia, a southwestern region of Germany.) As a battle scene between the Amazons and the Germans rages on, we hear Diana talk about how she once wanted to save this beautiful world, only to realize that “the closer you get, the more you see the darkness within.” This battle is the catalyst for Diana’s desire to accompany Steve Trevor to his world and join him in his mission to end the war.

2. A Mysterious Villainess

We already caught a glimpse of a mysterious female villain in the first trailer, and we now know that Elena Anaya’s character is described as “a big nightmare” for Diana and Steve. In this new trailer, we get to see a bit more of her. She appears to be involved in the development of “weapons far deadlier than you could ever imagine.” She’s then seen throwing some sort of explosive device into a building. Does this give us more of a clue as to who one of Wonder Woman’s main enemies will be? Right now, the top contenders are Doctor Poison or Doctor Cyber.

3. Diana’s Journey

It’s obvious from the trailer that Diana’s mother, Queen Hippolyta, is reluctant to let her daughter travel to this world where she’s never been. Diana, however, is determined to save them from war. “I cannot stand by while innocent lives are lost,” she tells Hippolyta. Arming herself with a shield and a sword, Diana sets off as her mother warns “Be careful, Diana.” This brief scene establishes the core of Wonder Woman’s existence, her desire for peace and her duty as protector.

4. Incognito

In order for Diana to enter this new world unnoticed, she has to adopt a new identity. Dressed in conspicuous clothing, Diana is introduced as Steve Trevor’s secretary. She manages to save Steve Trevor from being attacked in an alley, thanks to her bullet-deflecting bracelets and outstanding hand-to-hand combat skills. Proving that we can expect a bit of comedy, Steve adds that she’s “a very good secretary.” Diana also appears, as we saw in the first trailer, at a formal event with her sword safely tucked into the back of her evening gown. (There’s a bit of romance happening between Steve and Diana too.)

5. Wonder. Power. Courage.

As noted previously, the new promotional images feature Wonder Woman in various battle poses accompanied by one of three words: wonder, power, and courage. Each of these words are represented in the final moments of the new trailer, an extended version of the battle scenes seen in the first trailer. Now dressed as Wonder Woman rather than Diana, she fearlessly takes on the enemy, using her strength and her weaponry to defeat them on her own. And her magic lasso does make an appearance in this second trailer although it’s used as more of a restraint than as an instrument of truth-seeking.

The trailer wraps up with a bit of comic relief provided by Etta Candy, played by Lucy Davis. As Diana tries on a dress that’s more suitable for this world and this era, she asks Etta how women are able to fight in such attire. “Fight?” Etta responds. “We use our principles. Although,” she adds, “I am not opposed to engaging in a bit of fisticuffs should the occasion arise.”
