Mamma Mia has become something of a weird cult classic of a film. Hated when it was first released, now many call it their favorite movie.

The musical Mamma Mia is exactly what you think it is. A jukebox musical based on the music of Abba, it’s just as weird and quirky as the band itself. But what’s absolutely amazing about the movie is that everyone kind of hated it when it came out. We all thought it was strange and we didn’t get it.

Now though that’s an entirely different story. It’s become something of a cult classic among fans, everyone turning to watching Mamma Mia whenever they are feeling a little down. The thing is, you have to watch the movie a couple of times to really learn to appreciate it.

And it definitely does get better with more viewings. You just have to forget about Pierce Brosnan’s singing and the absolute insanity this musical is. It’s just a fun show about love and friendship and family and when you focus on the characters and dancing around to Abba music, it is amazing.
