43. Tainted Leg Meet

This might just be my favorite scene of the entire series. Bob’s  (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) character development throughout his time on The Walking Dead was quick and forgiving, until he met his untimely end. But it was brilliantly done.

A first, we hated Bob. His alcoholism cost someone their life and viewers thought he wouldn’t last long on this show. However, over many episodes, we found it in our hearts to forgive. And we saw him grow into a character we actually liked and respected.

Unfortunately, while out of a supply run, a walker yanked him underwater and viewers weren’t completely sure if we was bitten or not. When the Terminus group captured him and began eating part of his leg, it’s revealed that a walker did, in fact, bite him, and that they were all eating tainted meat.

In the comics, this plot belonged to Dale. They never addressed the burning question of if someone eats the meat of a person who was bitten but unturned is dangerous. The show didn’t reveal it either since everyone left in the Terminus group was killed by Rick’s group. Maybe we’ll see more of that in Season 7.
