13. Rick vs. Shane

We all knew Shane was jealous of Rick. The two had an odd relationship the minute Rick found his way to his family. He was envious constantly of his power, his ability to gain peoples trust, his relationship with Lori and Carl. But we never expected how far Shane would go to steal that from him.

Shane was fearless and cunning, but desperate for attention. It finally builds up to a point where Shane can’t handle following Rick’s orders anymore and sets off the kill him. Fans didn’t know what to expect from. Should we be worried for Rick? Should we be worried for Shane?

As Shane was angrily yelling, pointing his gun at Rick, Rick notes that he “has to kill an unarmed man,” handing his gun to Shane. During the exchange, Rick stabs Shane; throws him to the ground and beats him to death.

The most surprisingly part of this though is when Rick sees that Carl was watching, when Shane comes back as a zombie, and when Carl shoots Shane to save his dad.
