47. Rick Reunites With Family

Let’s just start off with, in my opinion, the most memorable moment of The Walking Dead. Rick reuniting with his family. I sobbed while watching this scene. Actual tears were pouring down my face. And I don’t believe you if you say you didn’t. This was the most emotional non-death scene on this show.

At this point, Rick is thrown into this new world. His learning curve was much steeper than most, as he came in weeks after the initial outbreak. He had to quickly learn what was happening, and how he was going to cope with it. It was devastating when he learned that his family was gone, but he held onto hope, and that paid off. So when he finally saw Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Carl at the camp he was brought to after escaping Atlanta, how could you not have tears pouring down your face?!

I think it’s important to understand the inevitable, but to always hold onto a little hope. And I think this moment reassured that within the group. They had a long road ahead, but they needed some sort of push to carry on. And this reunion gave them that.
