With the first full week of NHL hockey upon us, here’s who’s playing, when, where to tune in, and some recommendations for maximum hockey viewing pleasure.
Note: Looking for the schedule for Saturday, October 15? Check out last week’s slideshow for the start of the NHL season.
Well, hockey has fully and truly begun. Last season’s champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, have raised their banner. Plenty of big-name players like Sidney Crosby and Carey Price have already missed games due to injury or illness. Fans are already worrying about their team’s prospects for the entire season based on just a few games.
Ah, NHL hockey, never change. (Don’t take that seriously, though. Sports do actually need to evolve at some point, even you.)
In the following slideshow, we’ll tell you about every single game being played from Sunday, October 16 through Saturday, October 22. The games are sorted by where they’re televised, as stated by the NHL’s official schedule. Then, we’ll give you some best bets as well.
Check back throughout the week for any updates to recommendations based on major news, whether that be slumps, injuries, hot streaks, or some unforeseen circumstance.
That all being said, let’s kick things off with a three-game Sunday slate.
