Why She’s Awesome: Michonne has always been the resident badass of The Walking Dead. Ever since her first entrance, leading two walkers on chains and wielding a katana, everyone knew she was not to be messed with. And throughout the series she has continued to be just as formidable. But we’ve also come to know her soft side as well, through her friendships and relationships with the other characters. Now that this past season ended with a cliffhanger that made it unclear whether Michonne lives or dies, this might be our best chance to pay homage to this amazing character.

What You’ll Need: Michonne’s clothing is highly practical and mostly earth-toned, possibly to help camouflage herself and avoid potential enemies. Get yourself some olive green or brown pants, held up by a large belt, and throw on a brown tank top as well. Michonne is often seen wearing a brown leather vest, but if you don’t want to spend money on leather, a tight brown zip-up sweater with the sleeves cut off would be an ideal alternative. She uses fabric headbands to keep her hair out of her face, so don’t forget that. And, naturally, her katana is a must-have. There are plastic versions available online!

Next Level Move: Walker Michonne! So, Michonne is (maybe) not dead yet, but that’s the looming specter in the background of The Walking Dead – years-old spoiler alert: everyone’s infected, and no one is getting out alive. So everybody will eventually be a zombie. Why not get a jump on it here? Use some Youtube makeup tutorials and some storebought blood to make yourself look zombified. Consider using a latex prosthetic to make it look like your skin is coming off as well. No better time for a gross costume than Halloween!
