Jon Snow
Everybody’s favorite Northern bastard—considering the only other known option is Ramsay—is up for debate when it comes to his mortality. But the fact is, he was dead for a time. It was, however, rather obvious that he wouldn’t stay that way. Not only had Melisandre arrived at the Wall and had already expressed a special interest in Jon, but he had too much story left to tell to just up and be dead.
The showrunners took us for a bit of a ride after the Season 5 finale. But When we considered everything Jon still has on his plate, it didn’t make narrative sense to cut him. His parentage had yet to be revealed, and Jon clearly plays a vital role in the war against the White Walkers to come. All things considered, he certainly wasn’t going to be taken down by a punk like Alliser Thorne.
Thankfully, this theorizing came to fruition when Jon pulls a Jesus as early as Season 6, Episode 2. After months of wringing our hands over the matter, there was no more time to waste. Jon was going to rise, and he had to do it almost immediately. Somewhere in the background of the set, I’m sure someone was playing Mulan‘s “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” to mark the occasion. Because now Jon is getting down to business… to defeat the White Walkers. Okay, so we’re a little heavy on the syllables, but the adrenaline rush remains the same.
