8. Ron Swanson

Any time there was a small television character that made it to the primetime spot on Comic Con, it was something magical. This year, that majestic being was none other than Ron Swanson himself.

Most of the con was filled with recognizable characters or mash-ups. Everyone brought their favorites to life and most fell under the umbrella as being part of a ‘geekdom’. Ron Swanson doesn’t really fit under that title.

While Parks and Recreation has an amazing fanbase, it isn’t what many consider to be part of the Comic Con line up. It’s a funny little comedy with great characters, but most of the time, cons are for the bigger entities.

But this man came with his best Ron Swanson and it made him stand out among the masses. The burly boss of Leslie Knope who works for the government despite his hatred of it is a fan favorite. But that doesn’t mean he’s a regular at events like NYCC.

So seeing him there and especially having someone play him so perfectly makes this cosplayer one of the best ones that New York Comic Con had to offer us. Kudos to you, Ron Swanson. You probably hate that your image is on the internet and in a listicle but hey.
