10. King George

This year, Hamilton took over the world and so, it was no surprise that it took over Comic Con as well. With Angelica Schuylers and Hamiltons, this King George cosplay truly stood out.

Historically speaking (and it’s also true of the musical), King George is the villain of the story. He is the one who sent the settlers to America and he’s the one who taxed them to the point of war.

In the musical, King George is the flamboyant white man who is giving a constant commentary on how terrible he thinks everything happening in the colonies is. And, he’s one of the funniest parts of the show. He even does a little shoulder dance that has the audience laughing for a good ten minutes.

He also is wearing the most and has one of the most insane costumes in the entire production. It’s fantastic, especially with his Dalmatian print crown and bright red robes.

So, it’s really clever that of all the Hamilton characters, this cosplayer decided to go with the most elaborate one in the show. It’s this effort and brilliant thinking that lands her in the top 10 cosplay outfits for this year’s New York Comic Con.
