Game of Thrones Gets Romantic Costumes for Season 7
We all knew Jon Snow would move from Game of Thrones to a romance novel cover.
Warning: this post contains set photos from Season 7 of Game of Thrones, which may be construed as spoilers.
At this point, fans can only breathlessly speculate over what may happen during Game of Thrones‘ penultimate season. Set photos, rumors, and spoilers have already emerged.
Yours truly is not here for breathless speculation over these new set photos from Game of Photos on Twitter.
Why? Because look at what these photos show Kit Harington wearing on set.
Seriously: get rid of the suspenders and open the shirt a little more. Voila, you have one romance novel cover featuring Kit Harington. Jon Snow has practiced his brooding since Season 1 of this show. He has earned that cover. Just find him Daenerys or Sansa, depending on your personal preference, put a title on it (no references to wolves or dragons, please), and you have your newest late-night read.
That first picture actually happens to be perfect expression-wise, too. Romance novel heroes don’t express their feelings until after the first steamy love scene at the very least. This has to be early on in the story, when he still can’t believe that his love interest talks to him the way she does.
Ah, here’s one of them now! Check out Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, along with a few bonus pictures.
We’ll cast Podrick Payne as perhaps the challenger who gets a sequel novel sooner rather than later. As for Sansa Stark, the wolf dress appears to have disappeared, at least for now.
We also have someone for the role of friend who sets either the hero or the heroine straight at some point, possibly both. Check out this selfie of Kristofer Hivju and Bella Ramsey, otherwise known as Tormund Giantsbane and Lyanna Mormont.
You know Lyanna definitely knocks some sense into Sansa at some point in this imaginary romance novel. Ditto with Tormund for Jon. His love advice totally works, right? (Maybe not…)
However, a challenger has also emerged for the romance novel cover crown. Behold Gwendoline Christie.
Yeah, I would read this romance novel, too. She also has wisely gotten rid of the suspenders, which probably would not have been a good look for her. Maybe some work on the facial expressions if she’s going to hit the brooding look, but we’ve got faith in Christie and in Brienne of Tarth.
(You’re now imagining Brienne wooing Jaime Lannister, with, of course, plenty of snark along the way.)
Next: Podrick Payne: Squire, Legend, Ideal Boyfriend
Game of Thrones returns sometime in the summer of 2017.
