28.  I’ll Love Him Just As I Love You

A key point in Bridget Jones’s Baby is whether or not the man she loves would stay with her if the baby wasn’t his. When she was in a kind of relationship with Jack, he said that things would change if the baby was Mark’s. And when Bridget is crying in labor and Mark is confessing his love to her, she asks him and he simply says “I’ll love him just as I love you”.

What makes Mark so special is that without a second thought, he says that he’ll love her son no matter what. Every other man in Bridget’s life has wanted Bridget but if there was some kind of catch, they would bow out. But not Mark. He’s always been there to make sure that she knows that he loves her and he’ll do anything for her.

This moment truly made the entire theater cry because Mark doesn’t care if the baby is his, he already loves him and he’ll continue to do so even if the father is Jack. It shows just how much Mark has changed from when he first met Bridget and how he’s willing to let himself truly love again. Mark also is really good at proclaiming his affections for Bridget and it gives him major kudos points.
