26. Two Men, One Baby, Loads of Fun

Every film has Bridget pulled between two men but this one is a little different because neither of the two really have relationships with Bridget but are all together because of the baby.

Jack Qwant is a mogul because of his app to help people find love. Him and Bridget hook up at a festival and have no real connection other than finding the other physically attractive. But now he is in her life because the baby could potentially be his.

And because he’s always around, it truly shows a new side to Mark Darcy. He’s quick-tempered and he lets his emotions out in frazzled sentences when he gets upset and he’s never really done that before. It usually was a build up, he’d punch Daniel and then he’d be fine once more.

Now though, he has to share Bridget and when Jack lies to him to get Mark out of the picture, he completely distances himself and hides away. Though it’s because he believes the baby isn’t his and he should’ve talked to Bridget about it, it’s engaging in a way because it shows that he’s still afraid of being broken-hearted. Mark still feels the need to protect himself and it’s heartbreaking.
