8. Polka Dot Dress: Season 1, Episode 20

There’s not much to say about this outfit, but that’s what I like about it. It’s a classic Mindy look and one that never gets old. She’s wearing a black and white polka dot dress but she looks put together and still work appropriate. The throwback to Season 1 really shows us how quickly Mindy has grown up since then but how her fashion has evolved. We would never see an outfit like this in Season 5 especially with such a lack of accessories.

It might look simple to some people but nothing with Mindy Lahiri is ever simple as fans of the show well know by now. I really like the tie around her waist because it’s a throwback to the huge trend of belting around the waist in the early 2010’s which she still uses now but in a different way. Even though it’s not pictured here, in the actual episode Mindy tops the outfit with a maroon-colored cardigan. It’s a nice pop of color for her outfit and it doesn’t take away from anything. It compliments her outfit and makes her look a little bit more put-together.
