7. Shadowcat / Kitty Pryde

Who she is: Following a series of headaches, Katherine Pryde first discovered her powers after phasing through her bedroom floor and into her living room. Afterward, Charles Xavier (Professor X) asked Kitty to attend his school and join the X-Men. Some of her adventures with the X-Men include dance classes, a romance with popular X-Men member Piotr Rasputin / Colossus, and adopting an alien lizard named Lockheed.

Why she deserves a tv show: The original X-Men trilogy showcased Kitty Pryde’s ability to walk through walls several times. Ellen Page reprised her role from The Last Stand (2006) for Days of Future Past (2014), with the latter film touching (very) lightly on Pryde’s time-traveling abilities. With a young actress and a decent budget, a television series focusing on one of the most important female X-Men members of all times begs to be created. Of course, there are others (who made this list), but Kitty Pryde is the most relatable as she struggled with self-doubt and messy relationships. Mutants — they’re just like us!

Who could play her: Eden Sher is a Critic’s Choice Award winner known for her role as Sue heck on ABC’s The Middle. She’s funny, charming, and has a bubbly Disney quality that makes her perfect for the role of Kitty Pryde. A lighthearted, comedic (but not campy) Kitty Pryde show would have wide audience appeal.
